What do you do as a consultant/coach?
I partner with community-driven leaders and nonprofit organizations through coaching, facilitation, training, and consulting.
Potential types of gathering I could facilitate include: organization retreats, mission and vision retreats, team building, building team. norms, role clarity, community-building spaces (e.g., coalitions, networks of consultants).
I offer trainings related to organizational culture. My approach is to work with the organization to tailor the content to meet their needs. All trainings can be done virtually or in-person. Topics of trainings include: how to give and receive feedback, time and energy management, effective supervision, topics related to self-managing culture, and board development
I also offer an internal capacity builder role where I serve as an embedded consultant, thought partner, coach, and trainer to help your organization strengthen its systems, structures, and culture. In this role, I’m available on an ongoing basis to address emerging needs in strategy, infrastructure, team dynamics, and organizational culture. This is 6 to 24 month partnership work, with a set number of hours each month. Work includes:
- Facilitation and training in key development areas (see previous sections above for specific topics).
- Regular check-ins with leadership (2/month) to assess needs and co-create scope of work.
- Feedback sessions every other month to assess alignment.
- Flexible pace and responsiveness to changing conditions. Office hours available for ad hoc coaching for all staff (optional).
If there is a specific topic that you do not see but it is connected with anything listed above, please do reach out and we can discuss what is possible.
What is your approach?Â
My approach is to co-design my work with the client. This means getting input consistently from the client as I move along to ensure the product meets the needs of the organization and the time is well spent. This requires having a point of contact who values collaboration, has capacity to meet on a regular basis to have these discussions, and has an understanding of what works and doesn’t work for their team.
How has your experience/background contributed to your work?
I’m an American Muslim woman, coach, consultant, and capacity builder who has spent nearly 20 years supporting social justice organizations and leaders, particularly those rooted in or serving the American Muslim community.
I started my career in the American Muslim nonprofit space, where I quickly understood the importance of building strong organizational infrastructure for nonprofits to fully thrive. Since then, I’ve been on a mission to build my toolkit and bring it back to both the American Muslim nonprofit space and the broader social justice movement to help organizations not just survive, but flourish.
I bring both lived experience and professional depth. I’m an ACC-level coach with the International Coaching Federation (ICF). I have specialized training in helping organizations prepare for and respond to external threats, including coordinated opposition attacks through RoadMap Consulting’s “Weathering the Storms” program, where I supported high-risk organizations in building resilient infrastructure.
I’ve led from the inside: most recently as one of four Co-Executive Directors at RVC Seattle, where I helped navigate a values-aligned nonprofit through shared leadership and organizational growth.
I don’t operate from an expert-driven consulting model. I walk alongside organizations and individuals to find what matters most and build sustainable ways to tend to it. My approach centers partnership, reflection, and cultural responsiveness; meeting organizations where they are and co-creating solutions rooted in their values and context.
