What do you do as a consultant/coach?

I offer communications and narrative strategy support and training for organizations and leaders working to vibrant movements to build a vibrant political and economic democracy that frees people across race, class, gender, sexuality, and nationality in the cities, towns, states, and countries they call home.

I provide a connective, adaptable, and caringly rigorous politicized somatic coaching practice to organizers, communicators, and other leaders to embody their own dignity, move from a place of centered accountability, and stay focused on what matters most.

What is your approach?

I join forces with staff and members to develop organizational and/or campaign strategy, facilitate trainings and develop curriculum, provide coaching on strategy and tactics, and also support leaders growing their own ability to train others on communications and narrative strategy as well.

In my somatics coaching, I use the generative somatics methodology that supports people embodying the kind of leadership they want to inhabit through focusing on growing somatic awareness, engaging in somatic practices, and healing through somatic openings.

Generative Somatics is a path of embodied transformation that integrates the mind, body and spirit into healing work.

How has your experience/background contributed to your work?

I bring over a decade of organizing and narrative strategy experience to support leaders, organizers, and communicators embody more power, possibility, and lead from a place of freedom.

I came into movement as a teenager who joined mobilizations against the US war in Iraq but didn’t get involved in organizing until my final year in high school working with a formation called Building Locally to Organize for Community Safety (BLOCS), which worked to grow community safety outside of policing and work with neighbors to get bad and harmful cops off the streets.

From there, I continued to develop as an organizer, interning with Causa Justa::Just Cause when I lived in Oakland, CA for an anti-racist organizing training program. Engaged in relational electoral organizing against the anti-LGBTQ Amendment One in North Carolina, and did more work with Southerners on New Ground. I grew my work as a communicator in beginning in 2013 collaborating with folks at the Racial Justice Action Center and Solutions Not Punishment Collaborative and developed my skills as a staffer doing national work with the US Human Rights Network in 2015 and deepened my experience through attending the CSS Advanced Training in 2016 and becoming a part of their network in 2017. From 2020-2024, I was on staff with ReFrame, a national organization building narrative power to win and my role was in curriculum development, leading training series, and coordinating with our networks of coaches and field specialists.

I began my study of somatics in 2014 as a member of a generative somatics Movement Partner, beginning offering 1:1 coaching in 2019, and started offering course work in 2014.
