Strengthening Organizational Structure + Finances

Trainings are a crucial part of how we fortify movements. Last month, members of our incredible consulting bench shined bright in sharing their expertise through ongoing cohort programming work.

Our multiyear partnership with Ms. Foundation has involved a series of training sessions, in addition to Direct Capacity Support Projects. Consultant Nijmie Dzurinko is leading RoadMap’s third cohort with Ms. Foundation and brought her deep experience in leadership development and strategic planning to moderate the panel, “Making the Most of Your c3: Organizing and Advocacy.” This curated expert panel was designed to meet this moment of intensifying attacks on our communities—from immigrants, trans folks, and Black and Brown communities to low-income people and our planet—in line with the refocusing of attention on local and state-level power. Panelists shared real-world examples and stories from those who have multi-year experience building in a way that is rooted in community and grounded in justice, and offered valuable insights on how to strategically organize under a C3.

As part of our partnership with the Hewlett Foundation, imi rashid facilitated a two-part series designed specifically for 501(c)(3) nonprofits. The first session focused on education about compliance requirements to ensure that nonprofits maintain their 501(c)(3) status without interruption, as well as best practices in non-profit accounting to ensure that organizations are audit ready. The second session covered financial scenario planning as a tool to support proactive—instead of reactive—decision making in times of uncertainty and disruption. Together, the webinars provided a powerful foundation for financial stability and long-term resilience, including practical knowledge, actionable tools, and a renewed sense of financial confidence.
