Weathering the Storms for Foundations

SAVE THE DATE:
Weathering the Storms Training for Foundations
June 1st SF Bay Area
(9am-5pm)

We are seeing increased hate crimes, harassment of activists, hacking incidents, infiltration and surveillance, and government audits. While many social justice groups have faced similar pressures in the past, the frequency and the severity of attacks is alarming and likely to increase.

Foundations are also vulnerable to similar attacks, sometimes coordinated with attacks on their grantees, and sometimes directly as funders of social movements. RoadMap is offering a full day training for foundation staff to share examples of what is happening in the field and to offer tools to prepare foundations to prevent and fend off attacks.

The training will cover:

  • “Getting and Keeping Your House in Order”, an audit of your compliance with various non-profit regulations and protocols;
  • outlining likely scenarios and creating a crisis management plan and crisis communications plan;
  • digital security orientation to guard against opposition attacks and surveillance.

The registration Fee is $250 per person. We strongly encourage multiple people from your foundation to attend given the different areas that we address, such as program officers, operations staff and communications staff. The fee is $500 per foundation for up to three people. The fee also includes RoadMap’s extensive toolkit – a $250 value and includes free access to all RoadMap Weathering the Storms webinars, which are oriented to clients/grantees but are also very useful for foundations.
