What do you do as a consultant/coach?
As a consultant/coach, I primarily work with staff and board of directors to assist them with their growth and development. I also encourage them to include their volunteers and communities in the process.
What is your approach?
As a consultant/coach, I build relationships with administrators and board members involved with the agencies with whom I consult. My approach is interactive. I want participants to understand that, though I am the consultant, they are the owners of the decisions and outcomes, and I am there to facilitate their process.
How has your experience/background contributed to your work?
Dothula first became fascinated with community development and nonprofit work after functioning for several years as an outreach librarian. This position involved supervising staff who developed and managed mini libraries in recreation/ community centers in low-income neighborhoods in Winston-Salem, NC. For many years, she worked in peace education and meditation centers, facilitating community programs that educated and informed the public on the dynamics of latent conflicts. She has a passion for helping people understand how to exist harmoniously as neighbors, co-workers, and family.
